Toen we wakker werden kwam de regen met bakken uit de lucht. Eerst dus maar ontbeten en onze spullen verzameld. Toen ontkwamen we er niet meer aan: de auto moest ingepakt worden en we moesten op weg. De eerste kilometers waren zeer nat. Bij Kiwihouse (hier zijn de vogels te vinden, niet het fruit!) zijn we gestopt. In eerste instantie bleef het regenen. Omdat een deel outdoors is, kregen we paraplu\u2019s mee. Naar eigen zeggen konden ze helaas geen boten mee geven. Gedurende de wandeling werd het droog en zonnig, dus je hoort ons niet klagen.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"NL\">Vanuit Kiwihouse naar Cambridge gereden. We gingen voor de houten kerk, maar zagen een heritage trail, dus na een kop koffie die gelopen. Hierbij uiteindelijk uitgekomen bij de kerk. <o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span lang=\"NL\">Ongeveer <st1:metricconverter productid=\"2 km\" w:st=\"on\">2 km<\/st1:metricconverter> na vertrek uit Cambridge barstte de regen weer los. Het blijkt dat het noodweer aardig heeft huisgehouden in New Zealand: dorpen afgesloten van de buitenwereld, wegen geblokkeerd, vele overstromingen en de standaard stormschade. Behalve zeer harde wind en helaas de rest van de dag (waarin we auto reden en aan het eind van de middag bij de cabin aankwamen) regen gehad.
